Matt Baynes is an emerging artist based in East Boston. In his art, Matt explores themes of light, vision, and architecture, focusing on the subtle beauty of the mundane. His work celebrates the everyday and ordinary, and aims to create a sense of place. He received his BFA in Theatre Design/Technology from Emerson College, with a concentration in scenic design and painting. In addition to small-scale visual art, Matt is a scenic artist and designer, as well as an experienced house painter and mural maker. Aside from painting, Matt's other interests include maps, playing the banjo, public transit, listening to music, and frying the perfect egg.
